Elvis Presley Sandwich: Banana And Peanut Butter Toastie

american, fresh bread, recipe, spreads
The Banana and Peanut Butter toastie, also sometimes referred to as the Elvis, consists of toasted bread slices with peanut butter and sliced or mashed banana.

Ingredients

Serves:
  • 2 each Wonder White Vitamins & Minerals Toast
  • 2 each Ripe Bananas
  • 150 g Peanut Butter (Crunchy)
  • 50 g Butter

Method

Raw ingredients for the Elvis Presley Sandwich

Step 1:

The first step to making this sandwich is to toast the two slices of Wonder White Vitamins & Minerals Toast. By toasting the bread beforehand, it helps avoid absorption of oil when it is fried in the pan.

Step 2:

Once the bread is browned off nicely, spread a generous amount of Peanut Butter over one side on each slice of bread. Crunchy Peanut Butter has been used to add some texture to the sandwich.

Step 3:

Lay the slice bananas over the Peanut Butter and cover with the other piece of bread.

Step 4:

Heat a pan to a medium heat, place the butter in, allow to melt. Then, place the sandwich in the pan and slowly baste before flipping to fry the opposite side. This process will give the sandwich a nice golden crust.
