Raw ingredients for Pork Katsu

Step 1

Trim, cut and bash the pork fillets, then season them with salt and pepper. Once they have been prepared, sprinkle them with White Wings Plain Flour, dip them lightly into the beaten egg and then cover them with the panko. During this step, make sure all sides are coated evenly.

Step 2

Heat half the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Fry the pork for two minutes on both sides or until golden brown. Once they have cooked through, drain the oils by placing them on paper towels.

Step 3

Using a cutter, cut even circles out of the Lawson’s Bread. Note, if you would like to toast the bread, put them on a tray and place in the oven until they are golden brown.

Step 4

Then, wash and slice the lettuce into thin strips. On one bread cut-out, spread the mustard evenly, then place the fried pork fillet on top. On the other slice of bread, spread the tonkatsu sauce and place the finely sliced lettuce on top. Then, combine the two filled slices to create a sandwich. Repeat this step until all the circular bread pieces have been used.
